Jenny Sojat, nee Gorton, MA, R-SLP, is a
Registered Speech Language Pathologist. After she completed her undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia, she accepted a scholarship from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., to obtain her Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology. Upon completion, Jenny went to San Francisco, California, to work with Michelle Garcia-Winner at the Centre for Social Thinking. On returning to Canada, Jenny began her private practice and developed Summer Social, a therapeutic summer camp for children and adolescents. She believes that children learn best when they are having fun. Jenny works primarily with children, adolescents, and young adults to foster social success at home, school, and in every-day social situations. Jenny and her husband live in North Vancouver, and she has offices in Surrey and West Vancouver.

As a Registered Speech Language Pathologist, Jenny principally offers individual and group therapy called Social Thinking for children and adults with social deficits. This programme entails a cognitive therapy for smart, awkward people and is based on Michelle Garcia-Winner's work. In addition, Jenny completes speech-language assessments, consults to professional organizations and schools, and practices as a speech language therapist. She advises schools and school districts across British Columbia to help develop social strategies and goals that can easily be implemented within the curriculum. During the summer months, she runs Summer Social, a therapeutic summer camp for children and adolescents.
